The Estate of
Bernard (Bernie) Markevitch
1203 N. 6th Street
Many of you were at the pre-Christmas sale at Bernie's apartment shortly after he passed away in November from COVID-19. This will now be the final chapter in his legacy of being one of the most interesting, talented and well-liked persons in our community.
Because of the quantity of items, we were able to rent the apartment across from his apartment to house his "overflow". We have emptied his storage areas and added them to this beautiful sale.
We will be posting the appointment dates and times available in the near future. Please watch this page for further information.

SPECIAL ITEMS: This is hard because almost all of the things here are unique and special. BOOKS...Bernie LOVED books; large beautiful coffee table style books were his favorite. He particularly favored these subjects. The Royal Family, Diana, The Kennedys, The White House, Theater, Interior Design, Fabulous Homes, Flowers, Weddings, Jewelry, Fashion, Mardi Gras, Travel, etc. We have huge bookcases filled with gorgeous books. CRYSTAL. If it sparkled, he loved it. Electrified wall sconces with crystal prisms, candle holders, crystal lamps, large cut glass bowls, pitchers, huge glass ice bucket, plus crystal paperweights or just a few crystals to have for fun...loads of them. For years he collected Crystal Critters and trinket boxes. We also have several sets of gorgeous dinnerware items, English cream soup cups, Lenox Holly demi-tasse cups, decanters and stemware, covered candy dishes, high end amazing things for elegant entertaining. ART, prints, oils, watercolors. He would like a picture and somehow it all worked well together and filled his walls.
MUSIC and MOVIES: Bernie never entered the electronic age. He watched movies and TV series on his DVD player from a collection of hundreds. He also had many CDs as music was always a part of his life. Because he catered and loved cooking his kitchens are filled with all kinds of interesting things. He loved Southern Living cookbooks and we have many of them. NEEDLEPOINT: In the 1980’s he was introduced to needlepoint as a method of relaxation and we now have many of his pieces for sale including several done in the past year. CRAFTS entered into everything he did from floral to design work and we have a room filled with useful items, plus ribbons and writing papers, and colorful stones he used to decorate with. You will be amazed when you see all this estate has to offer.
